Drug & Alcohol Policy

Use, possession, or distribution of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited. 2. PROHIBITED CONDUCT • Reporting to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol. • Possession, use, or distribution of illegal substances on company premises. • Alcohol consumption during working hours (except authorised company events). • Sale or distribution of prescription medications without a valid prescription. • Manufacturing illegal substances on company property. • Working while impaired due to substance use. 3. COMPANY EVENTS Alcohol may be served at approved events. Employees must drink responsibly and never drive under the influence. Company may limit or prohibit alcohol at any event. 4. TESTING Company may conduct testing where permitted by law: 4.1 Pre-Employment: Candidates may be screened. Refusal/positive result may withdraw offer. 4.2 Reasonable Suspicion: Based on observable symptoms, behaviour, or performance. Requires manager + HR approval. 4.3 Post-Accident: After workplace accident or injury. 4.4 Random: For safety-sensitive positions. 4.5 Return-to-Duty: After positive result and rehabilitation. 5. ASSISTANCE Employees struggling with substance abuse are encouraged to use the EAP ([EAP Contact]). Voluntary help-seeking before a violation will not result in disciplinary action. 6. CONFIDENTIALITY Testing results kept confidential, shared on a need-to-know basis. 7. CONSEQUENCES Referral to EAP, written warning, suspension, termination, or legal action. 8.
